In order to achieve a presentable baton in proper proportions I have reduced the length of the original from 15 inches to 12 inches. The remaining 3 inches is made into a retractable pen. The modified baton is then bored and fitted with brass tube and ferrule to accommodate the pen. All are supplied with matching pen and plinth in the same exotic timbers as the original batons of the last century.
